今天，是端午节。我的姥姥和姥爷来我家做客。姥姥跟我说：他们那家家户户都挂艾叶菖蒲，吃粽子，上山采青，食粽球，制粽。一大清早，我就跟着姥姥包了起来，首先拿出两片一大一小的粽叶，学着姥姥的样子折出一角，再在折好的角筒上放入一点已浸泡好的糯米，塞上一些红豆沙，又用糯米盖得严严实实的。我开始有点沾沾自喜了，心想：简单的包粽子根本难不住我。可是当我再把粽叶盖好时，糯米就像一个顽皮的孩子似的不听我的使唤，接二连三地都跳了出来。我急得像热锅上的蚂蚁团团转，幸好姥姥替我解了围把一些糯米弄掉一点，我才舒了一口气，心里的一块沉重的大石头放了下来。我经过了一些小挫折，总算到了最后的一个步骤扎棕绳。粽子要包扎严实才好吃，所以我接过棕绳，把粽子捆了一圈又一圈，这才交给姥姥。这时我才明白包粽子是门手艺活儿，包起来非常不容易。
这次的端午节可真有意思，不但我会包粽子了，还知道如果遇到了挫折，还要爬起来从新尝试!

I was like a cat on hotbricks today, fortunately, my grandma solution for me get some glutinous ricearound a bit, I breathed a sigh of relief, the in the mind of a heavy piece ofrock. After a few setbacks, I finally got to the last step. I took the palm ropeand wrapped it in a circle and then I gave it to my grandmother. It was thenthat I realized that zongzi was a handicraft work and it was very difficult towrap up.
This time the Dragon Boat Festival can be really interesting, not only Iwill make dumplings, but also know that if there is a setback, I will also climbup and try again!

the origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly governmentofficial named chu yuan. he was a good and respected man, but because of themisdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperor'scourt.
unable to regain the respect of the emperor, in his sorrow chu yuan threwhimself into the mi low river. because of their admiration for chu yuan, thelocal people living adjacent to the mi lo river rushed into their boats tosearch for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the riverdragons.
although they were unable to find chu yuan, their efforts are stillcommemorated today during the dragon boat festival.

Dragon boat festival, often known as tuen ng festival or duan wu festival,is a traditional chinese festival held on the fifth day of the fifth month ofthe chinese calendar. it is also known as the double fifth.[citation needed] ithas since been celebrated, in various ways, in other parts of east asia as well,most notably korea.
The exact origins of duan wu are unclear, but one traditional view holdsthat the festival memorializes the chinese poet qu yuan of the warring statesperiod. he committed suicide by drowning himself in a river because he wasdisgusted by the corruption of the chu government. the local people, knowing himto be a good man, decided to throw food into the river to feed the fishes toprevent them from eating qu's body. they also sat on dragon boats, and tried toscare the fishes away by the thundering sound of drums aboard the boat and thefierce looking dragon-head in the front of the boat.
In the early years of the chinese republic, duan wu was also celebrated as"poets' day", due to qu yuan's status as china's first poet of personalrenown.
Today, people eat zongzi (the food originally intended to feed the fishes)and race dragon boats in memory of qu's dramatic death.
