A Christmas Carol is a very short but very influential novel, its appearance made people love it at that time, it is also a classic Dickens himself highly recommended.
I have read this novel three times, and every time I read it, I feel that it is truly a classic. The short length, the wonderful plot, the concise language and the witty words are all vividly reflected in this novel. When I first saw the first subtitle, "Marleys Ghost," I thought it was a thriller. Scrooge, the hero of the novel, is a very interesting character. At first, Scrooge doesnt believe Marleys ghost or what he says to her. It wasnt until he actually saw the first ghost that he began to believe and act afraid. The first two ghosts took him through his youth, his youth, and his present state. A miser so selfish, mean, stingy, a miser so ignorant of charity and love for others, I cant help but spit at any time when I see such a figure. But after watching A Christmas Carol, I couldnt help but give him the thumbs up.
His name is Scrooge.
True to his name, he is stingy with money and does not care about others. Even on such a merry day as Christmas, he insisted that his clerks work overtime without any increase in pay. If it were not for the ghost of the dead Marley, his partner, he would never have realized that he should be a kind and loving person. Like many stingy corporate owners in society, they want their workers to do more work, but they cant spare a penny. The factory went on strike for debt collection, and he left. Workers dont get paid anyway. Money is the lifeblood of those bosses. You take their lives away from them. What do they do? Although most of the money is the workers hard-earned money, but he can live as an ignorant child, rob other peoples toys, refused to let go, but also insisted that it is his. With such a childish man to ask for wages, you can only become as childish as him, or even if his great mother appeared, he would not let go. Because he is where he is today, in part, thanks to his great mother. He would like to believe that his mother always stood up for him.
